Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Greensboro, N.C.
Married to Orzella (25 years) who is also very active in ministry at The House of the Lord as Director of the Children's Choir.
They have two sons, Brannan (27), and Tyrone (18) both of Akron, Ohio.
Pastor Matherson, also enjoys coaching basketball in the public school system, playing golf, working on computers and studying war history.
Pastor Matherson, accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1983 at which time he also joined The House of the Lord as a member. His ministry involvement has included the maintenance ministry, parking lot ministry, evangelism & outreach, teaching, serving communion, seminar and workshop speaker, Logos Bible Institute Board Member and Christian Education Council member.

Graduated from Greensboro (N.C.) Public School System in 1975
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Furman University (S.C.) in 1979
Certified by Psychological Publishing to administer the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis
Attended Logos Bible Institute
Certified Grief Recovery Specialist
Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) by the American Association of Christian Counselor

Work Experience
Worked for the General Tire & Rubber Co. for 15 years in capacities such as Truck Tire Chemist, International Technical Representative and Tire Technology Project Manager.
Joined The House of the Lord in full time ministry in 1994.
Served as Director of Christian Education from 1986- 2003
Appointed Chief Operating Officer 2001.
Member of the Character Counts Board of Akron (Public Schools), Ohio.
Liaison Member of Board of Directors of Emmanuel Christian Academy
